Author Guidelines

The Revista Inciso, published by Universidad La Gran Colombia, follows the article classification stipulated by Minciencias and international databases. Priority is given to research and innovation articles in the fields of law, political science, socio-legal studies, and economic and management sciences, which must be original and unpublished.

1. Types of Accepted Articles

  • Scientific Research Article: Presents original results from completed projects. Structure: Introduction, Methodology, Results, and Conclusions.

  • Reflection Article: Research results from an analytical, interpretive, or critical perspective on legal, political, or economic issues, using original sources.

  • Review Article: A systematic and critical analysis of published research to present the state of the art of a specific topic. Requires a minimum of 50 bibliographic references.

2. Manuscript Structure

Articles must be submitted in Microsoft Word format, with a maximum length of 20 pages. The IMRaD structure is recommended:

  • Title: Maximum 15 words (Spanish and English).

  • Abstract: Maximum 250 words. It must be analytical (objectives, methodology, results, and conclusions).

  • Keywords: Maximum 5 descriptors (UNESCO Thesaurus), in alphabetical order.

  • Introduction: Problem statement, background, and objectives.

  • Methodology/Development: Presentation of arguments, applied methods, and contrast with theoretical frameworks.

  • Conclusions: Main findings in clear and affirmative language.

  • References: Minimum of 20 cited sources (except for review articles).

3. Style and Citation Standards (APA 7)

The journal strictly follows APA 7th edition standards. Units of measurement must follow the International System of Units, and graphic material (tables and figures) must be submitted in high resolution.

4. Ethical Commitment and Intellectual Property

Articles are subject to plagiarism detection. Submission implies that the text is unpublished and requires the signing of the Copyright Transfer Form.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it under consideration by another journal (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submitted file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect format.
    Web addresses have been added for references where possible.
  • The text is single-spaced; the font size is 12 points; italics are used instead of underlining (except for URLs); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are embedded within the text in their appropriate locations, not at the end.
  • The text complies with the bibliographic and stylistic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which can be found under "Guidelines."
  • If you are submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, you must ensure that the instructions in Ensuring Blind Review have been followed.
