Abstract

Colombia is a country of small and medium enterprises, which implies that they are an important player in the economy in the country, this article is a qualitative investigation that wants to examine in an integral way the evolution of the financing model of the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) implemented by the Colombian government during the last years and if there is an impact on their growth and development, in the same way to establish what legal mechanisms have allowed to strengthen this important sector of the economy in the country or if on the contrary they are detrimental to their development. In the first segment of the article we analyze how the promotion policy for SMEs is consolidated, the legal framework in which they are located and their evolution during the last years in the country, in the second part a description of the different tools will be made created by the state to strengthen the business ecosystem in Colombia, finally, an analysis will be made of the opportunities of entrepreneurs to access the various benefits offered by the government and concludes with recommendations for improving the quality of the strategies of support, emphasizing the importance of the chain of actions described with access to credit and commercialization. In this way to understand the different scenarios that small and medium entrepreneurs can access to finance the growth and development of their companies through the Colombian state.
