Abstract

This research is carried out on the cold chain currently operating at Laboratory X Japanese pharmaceutical with five years of experience in the Colombian market. Such cold chain referred to herein was implanted in early 2015, before the need of managing import of oncological medications, where there is a high reliability on management of its chain of cold supplies. This research found that the cold chain in the national scope does not have the capability to ensure client requirements, and in addition, there is significant gap in front of better practices worldwide. Specifically, it is not capable of ensuring integrity of transported thermolabile products. Based on the above, and in development of the research, the project suggests Laboratory X the use of SkyCell 770C passive packing, which, thanks to its technological development, may become the ideal solution alternative to prevent periods when such products are not under suitable cold temperature during the logistic process, since by using such packing, traceability and maintenance product temperature are guaranteed; with additional advantages, such as decrease of related costs.
